From the Netherlands with love: a selection of beautiful landscapes of the Netherlands that will impress you.
The Netherlands is not only about legal marijuana, a spirit of freedom, charming villages and beautiful architecture. It is also stunning in its beauty national parks and landscapes of the Netherlands. Just think: there are 20 national parks in a country covering only 41.5 thousand square kilometers!
The landscapes of the Netherlands you can admire endlessly: the calm hills of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug park, the moorlands of the Dwingelderveld, the dunes of the Duinen van Tesel National Park. But the Keukenhof Park gained worldwide fame thanks to its colorful geometry.
The name "Keukenhof" will make the heart of any gardener beat faster - this flower splendor cannot but cause a feeling of delight. The Royal Park, which is widely spread in the city of Lisse on 32 hectares, is also called the “Garden of Europe” and “Tulip Park”: out of seven million flowers, tulips take pride of place - 4.5 million.
Such vast grounds are cut by footpaths, the total length of which is 15 km, and canals along which one can comfortably ride on the so-called slow-moving boats, driven by an electric motor. In addition, you can ride a bike in the park, enjoying the scenery of the Netherlands, and even fly over the flower fields in the Dakota!
In three pavilions, more than 30 alternating expositions of flowers are presented: roses, tulips, amaryllis, daffodils, hyacinths. And adorable orchids can be admired in the Beatrix conservatory, the Queen's private pavilion.
The park opens to visitors every year from March 20 to May 20, and in late April - early May, the famous Bloemencorso Bollenstreek flower parade passes through Lisse, which moves from Noordwijk to Haarlem and is an unusual procession of decorated cars and large moving platforms with sculptures of flowers.
Zuid-Kennemerland Park is popular with birdwatchers as it is the largest bird reserve in the Netherlands. Here you can go hiking or cycling: hiking trails run through the park. Bird watching is also possible in the Zvin reserve, which is famous for the nesting grounds of the white stork. Part of the reserve belongs to Belgium.
In De Lonse en Drunense Duinen you can wander the dunes, while in De Hoge Veluwe, one of the kingdom's largest national parks, you will be delighted with the variety landscapes of the netherlands: there are gorgeous dunes, and mysterious moorlands, wetlands, and fragrant coniferous forests. Among other things, the park De Hoge Veluwe is famous for sculptures, as well as the Kröller-Müller Museum, which contains a collection of Van Gogh's works. You can ride branded white bicycles in the park.
Fans of windmills, this indisputable symbol of the Netherlands, are advised to go to Kinderdijk, where 19 UNESCO-listed windmills have survived. In addition, we recommend visiting Zanse Schans - in this village you can get acquainted with the structure of mills and the process of making cheese, as well as get into the spirit of a medieval village.
The landscapes of the Netherlands inspire not only travelers. For example, Vermeer was very fond of his hometown of Delft, and many residents of the Kingdom of the Netherlands consider it one of the most beautiful cities. Of course, the cityscapes of The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam will also captivate your heart forever.
