Prague is a controversial city: it has many disadvantages, but it also has a number of advantages. Despite the fact that we did not like Prague, it is still worth getting to know the Czech capital - and there are 7 reasons for that. Find out about her best side in this post.
1. Gastronomic interest
Czechs love to eat! We love to eat too. They cook deliciously, sometimes even very tasty. Boar knee and fried cheese are especially successful. The portions are large and filling. In addition, at lunch you can find an inexpensive business lunch - from 90 kroons.
2. Alcoholic drinks
We don't like alcohol, but it would be strange to visit the Czech Republic and not drink beer. As a result, we drank as much as 2 liters for the trip for two (which is a lot for us, in fact). Czechs drink it like water. Our verdict: the beer is really tasty. We recommend the dense Pardubice dark porter (13º) at the U Járy beer hall.
We were in Prague around Christmas, so it was impossible to pass by the fairs, where the smells of mead, mulled wine, plum brandy and punch were in the air. Warm well!
3. Attractions
Not all sights of Prague are worth your attention, money and time spent. Lennon's advertised wall, for example, is just bewildering. Nevertheless, there are a number of places for which it is worth visiting the Czech capital at least once - we talk about them in our large guide.
4. Le Style Mucha
There is a museum of Alfons Mucha in Prague, and his works are also exhibited in the National Gallery. True, you will not see the famous "Slav Epic" now - it went on tour. For those who are interested in the artist's works, we highly recommend visiting the museum - it is intimate and pleasant. Many personal belongings, photographs, sketches. There is even the first child's drawing of a Fly.
The artist's works can also be seen in the Public House - he was engaged in the design of the Mayor's Salon. In St. Vitus Cathedral, take a close look at the stained glass windows, because one of them is by Mucha.
5. Swans

6. Petersburg architecture
Seriously, some districts of Prague simply cannot be distinguished from Tekhnolozhka and Petrogradka. If you love typical St. Petersburg architecture, but have already been to the city many times, go to Prague and enjoy the Gothic and Baroque churches along with the buildings typical of St. Petersburg.
7. Gardens and parks
Gardens and parks are a good refuge for those tired of the hustle and bustle. In addition, there are panoramic views of the city. We were only in Riegrovy sady and Vysehrad. During the low season, some parks and gardens are closed, such as the royal ones.

If you are going to Prague before Christmas, visit the fairs. Perhaps this is one of our brightest impressions! Try svarzhak (mulled wine), cherry punch, spiced roasted almonds and chocolate trdelnik. The most beautiful fair is located in front of St. Lyudmila on New Town Square.
